PM visits Astana Opera Theatre and National Museum

Regular population and housing census to be held in January next year
In compliance with 7.1st of the Law on Statistics, which states “Population and housing census shall be carried out every decade whereas a midterm census shall be held every 5 years”.
Sales of industrial production increase by 14.3 percent
In the first 9 months of 2019, the gross industrial output reached MNT 13.0 trillion, showing an increase of MNT 1.7 trillion (15.0%) from the same period of previous year.
Total foreign trade turnover increases by 9.5 percent
In the first 9 months of 2019, Mongolia traded with 145 countries from all over the world and total trade turnover reached USD 10.5 billion, of which USD 5.9 billion were exports and USD 4.6 billion were imports.
Tax revenue increases by 21.2 percent
In the first 9 months of 2019, total equilibrated revenue and grants of the General government budget amounted to MNT 7.7 trillion and total expenditure and net lending amounted to MNT 7.3 trillion, resulting a surplus of MNT 484.6 billion in the equilibrated balance.
Births decrease in September
At the national level in the first 9 months of 2019, 58.1 thousand mothers delivered 58.5 thousand babies (live births), increased by 488 mothers (0.8%) and 563 live births (1.0%) compared to the same period of the previous year.
World Food Day to be marked on Sukhbaatar Square
Every October 16 is traditionally celebrated as a World Food Day. This year, the day will be celebrated in Mongolia under the theme of ‘Healthy Food- Healthy Eating Habits’.

Nighttime electricity tariff discount to be available from November 1
As a result of the construction of heating pipelines and sub-stations made with the investment of 2017-2018 state budget, a total of 139 buildings and facilities were connected to the central heating system. It has contributed to reduce coal consumption by 52.5 thousand tons. In 2018-2019, 171 ordinary and low pressure stoves were closed and buildings of 210 individuals and entities were connected to the central heating, noted Deputy Prime Minister U.Enkhtuvshin.

Nationwide harvesting reported
During the spring sowing 2019, 512.0 thousand hectares were cultivated for crop, including 364.8 thousand hectares for grain of which 340.0 thousand hectares were for wheat; 14.8 thousand hectares for potatoes, 8.0 thousand hectares for vegetables, 82.4 thousand hectares for oil plants and 42.0 thousand hectares for fodder plants.

Mongolia ranks 102nd in Global Competitiveness Report
The Global Competitiveness Report series released by the World Economic Forum (WEF) introduced this year’s Global Competitiveness Index (GCI), in which Mongolia scored 52.6 point and stood at 102nd out of 141 countries.
27.2 thousand tons of meat exported
According to the statistics of customs office, a total of 27.2 thousand tons of meat, including 13.5 thousand tons of horse meat, 1045 tons of mutton and goat meat, 855 tons of by-products and 11.8 thousand tons of heat-processed meat has been exported in the first nine months of this year.
