Mongolian Judokas Depart for Paris Grand Slam

Ulaanbaatar, February 6, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The first Grand Slam tournament of the 2026 season, to be held in Paris, France, will begin on February 7.


A total of 512 judokas from 81 countries will compete in the 52nd edition of the tournament. Representing Mongolia, 15 athletes and three coaches departed for Paris on February 5. The tournament, which dates back to 1971, was originally held under the name Tournoi de Paris and featured only male competitors; female judokas have been included since 1988.


On the first day of competition, bouts will be held in the men’s 60, 66, and 73 kg categories and the women’s 48, 52, 57, and 63 kg divisions. On the second day, matches will take place in the men’s 81, 90, −100, and +100 kg categories and the women’s 70, −78, and +78 kg divisions.
