Ulaanbaatar, February 5, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Honored Athlete and International Master of Mountaineering Tseveendash B. today has begun a 1,600-kilometer run along the Ulaanbaatar–Beijing–Tianjin route.

Before kicking off his run, Tseveendash emphasized that depression among children and youth, as well as screen addiction, have become serious issues, and noted that rather than merely talking about a healthy lifestyle, he aims to set an example through his own actions. “People have become so reluctant even to walk single bus stop. There is no need to be afraid of winter running. The endurance of those who choose physical education and sports is truly remarkable. People who engage in sports gain many advantages. Young people are experiencing a severe lack of physical activity, and excessive digital use is leading to mental health challenges. This is not just our country’s problem; it is a global crisis. People are overly afraid of the cold, yet we must show that it is possible to run even in winter,” he said.

He continued, “Today I am facing a new challenge and beginning a new run. At a time when negative social attitudes are increasing, I hope to contribute something positive to others through winter running. I have prepared well and developed a detailed plan, especially as part of the route passes through China. Initially, I planned to stay overnight in a tent along the way, but I will instead be accompanied by a vehicle. Two people will travel with me, and safety during the run will be fully ensured.”

The run has started in Ulaanbaatar and will pass through Zamyn-Uud of Mongolia, Erenhot, Hohhot, Zhangjiakou, and the Great Wall of China. He plans to run a full marathon distance of 42 kilometers per day and complete the 1,600-kilometer journey within 40–45 days.
