Political Consultative Meeting Between Mongolia and Uruguay Held in Montevideo

Ulaanbaatar, October 3, 2025 /MONTSAME/.  The Second Political Consultative Meeting between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay took place on September 30, 2025, in Montevideo.


During the meeting, the sides exchanged updates on political, social, and economic developments in their countries and reviewed recent achievements in Mongolian–Uruguayan relations. Looking ahead, the parties discussed enriching bilateral cooperation with economic content, exploring opportunities in priority sectors including agriculture, tourism, education, and peacekeeping. The parties emphasized the importance of supporting businesses from both countries to establish connections and cooperate in sectors of mutual interest. While the first political consultative meeting had been conducted online in 2023 to define priority areas for bilateral cooperation, the 2025 meeting focused on more specific issues to intensify and expand collaboration.


On the Mongolian side, the consultative meeting was led by Amgalan Anand, Director General of the Department of the Americas, Middle East and Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, while the Uruguayan delegation was headed by Martín Vital, Director for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay.
