Ulaanbaatar, September 8, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The solo exhibition 'From Clay to Digital' by artist Logiiraz Ganbat has opened to the public in the exhibition hall of the Fine Arts Zanabazar Museum.

For more than 30 years, Logiiraz Ganbat has studied and taught in Mongolia, the Kingdom of Norway, and the Kingdom of Sweden, specializing in sculpture, three-dimensional works, and digital and contemporary art, while participating in international exhibitions. This exhibition presents three stages of his work, from late-1990s clay sculptures to the most recent pieces created using 3D technology. Exhibited works include ‘Manal’ (1997), the head of ‘Green Horse, and the newly created ‘Head of Buddha’ (2025).

The artist’s career is notable for combining traditional Buddhist art with contemporary techniques. In 1997, he apprenticed at the Pethub Monastery under the 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, studying Buddhist teachings and art theory, and subsequently developed a new style of thangka painting in the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal. While working at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, he realized his goal in 2008 to create works combining clay, paper reliefs, 3D techniques, and artificial intelligence.

The ‘From Clay to Digital’ solo exhibition will continue until September 14, 2025.
