Monument of Late People’s Artist G. Tumendemberel Erected in Ulaangom

2025 /MONTSAME/. Secretary General of the State Great Khural Baasandorj Barsuren,
together with Members of the State Great Khural (Parliament) and the Government,
who are working in Uvs aimag, participated in the opening of the monument of
the late People’s Artist of the Mongolian People’s Republic and Member of the
People’s Great Khural of Mongolia, Tumendemberel Gombo.
According to the Media
and Public Relations Department of the State Great Khural, the 3.5-meter-tall
monument, erected on the square in front of Oirad Theater in Ulaangom city, was
crafted by sculptor J. Tumenchuluun and depicts the image of the People’s
Artist singing on stage, forever etched in the hearts of the people.
Late Tumendemberel Gombo was born in 1939 in Sangarag, Undurkhangai soum, Uvs aimag. The People’s Artist worked at the State Ensemble of Folk Song and Dance for over 40 consecutive years since 1956, mastering more than 400 songs, of which more than 200 were performed on stage. The monument of late Tumendemberel Gombo is a sculptural portrait that brings the Mongolian folk singer’s emotion, voice, and graceful stage presence to real life. It is rightfully one of the most remarkable memorials of the 100th anniversary of Uvs aimag.
