FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Team Chess Championships 2025 Underway

Ulaanbaatar, June 12, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 2025 World Team Blitz and Rapid Chess Championships commenced in London, United Kingdom.
The seven-day Championships feature 420 players from 52 teams from 64 countries in the blitz and rapid categories, and three Mongolian teams are competing against fellow top-tier chess players. The Championships include 123 grandmasters, 67 international masters, 65 FIDE masters, and 24 candidate masters.
In the first four rounds, Mongolia’s first National Team scored five points and stands 19th overall. The team drew its opening match, won the next two, but fell in the fourth round. Led by grandmasters S. Bilguun and B. Munguntuul, Mongolia’s second team is 23rd with four points after two wins and two losses.
Meanwhile, the country’s third team, “Mongol Z,” has collected three points, continuing the tournament with one win, one draw, and two losses.
