Meeting held with representatives of some int’l organizations

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Deputy Minister of Economy and
Development Narantsogt Sanjaa, with relevant authorities, held a meeting with Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Seok Hyun
Yoon, Country Manager of the World Bank (WB) Andrei Mikhnev, and Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Pavit Ramachandran.
During the meeting, the side of the Ministry of Economy and Development presented the structure and activities of the newly established Ministry as
well as the ‘New Revival Policy’ of the Government to accelerate the economy
during the pandemic, and its implementation progress and issues being faced. The sides exchanged views on further cooperation between the Ministry of Economy
and Development, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the Asian
Development Bank.
The international organizations have expressed their gratitude for the detailed information provided on the above-mentioned topics, thus acknowledging that the outline for future cooperation has become clearer to avoid overlaps in activities, to ensure coherence as well as to determine the division of responsibilities.
In addition, they expressed their willingness to launch new
cooperation and continue the joint projects and activities currently in works
in the field of development policy, macroeconomic policy, investment policy,
trade policy, free zone, public-private partnership, project financing within
the new functions of the Ministry, support the capacity building of the
Ministry, and proposed to hold such joint meetings on a quarterly basis and exchange
views on the implementation process.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Minister Narantsogt
expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the International Monetary
Fund, World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank for their suggestions and
contribution, and stated that the Ministry will plan the works to be implemented
within the framework of the agreed issues and take measures to begin them soon.
