Permanent Representative in Geneva meets ICDO Secretary General

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador L.Purevsuren had a meeting with Secretary General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) Mariatou Yap.
The Permanent Representative congratulated Ms. Mariatou Yap on her appointment as the ICDO Secretary General and said he highly appreciates the support ICDO has provided in upskilling Mongolia’s emergency staff since the country joined the organization in 2002.
Underscoring that this year marks ICDO’s 90th anniversary, the Secretary General expressed readiness to further cooperate with Mongolia in strengthening international cooperation in disaster management. She also informed the Permanent Representative that 20 Russian UAZ-390945 trucks are being provided to Mongolia to improve the country’s firefighting capacity.
