Ulaanbaatar Mayor meets ADB Country Director

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Governor of the capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar D.Sumiyabazar had a meeting with Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Mongolia Pavit Ramachandran on March 24.

 

Stressing that this year marks the 30th anniversary of Mongolia-ADB partnership, the governor expressed gratitude for the bank’s contntributions to the growth of Ulaanbaatar over the past 30 years and asked ADB to continue its support in addressing major development challenges facing the capital for the next 30 years to come. 

 

The sides also discussed projects that could be implemented under the ADB Country Partnership Strategy for 2021-2024. Specifically, they had discussions about implementing major projects to reduce traffic congestion through improvement in public transport services and to enhance social infrastructure and agreed to look into cooperation opportunities in the improvement of the city’s legal status, economic independence, and governance. 

 

Undertaking to consistently support Ulaanbaatar’s growth, the ADB Country Director provided updates on the ger district redevelopment and affordable housing projects.
