Health Minister meets Japanese Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Health S.Enkhbold had a
meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia
Kobayashi Hiroyuki to discuss joint projectsь and programs at length.
Thanking the Government of Japan for implementing numerous
aid projects and programs via Japan International Cooperation Agency to strengthen
health care in Mongolia, Minister S.Enkhbold expressed hope that the largest
development project, the Mongolia Japan-Teaching Hospital project, will play an
important role in improving Mongolians’ access to quality health care services.
Ambassador Hiroyuki Kobayashi asked for the Health Ministry’s
support and active cooperation in assistance projects and programs to be
undertaken by Japan in health care, expressing the country's position to continue projects and programs further.
Minister S.Enkhbold emphasized it was timely that Japan supplied
anti-viral drugs, personal protective equipment and medical devices amid the
pandemic and thanked the Ambassador for his role in securing USD 21.6 million aid
for purchasing COVID-19 vaccines and cold chain equipment for vaccine storage,
noting that the Ministry of Health will cooperate closely with the United
Nations Children’s Fund for successful implementation of the two-phase project.
