National standard on cloth face mask adopted

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ “MNS 6828: 2020, Face mask. General requirements” standard has been adopted by the order of the Head of the Mongolian Agency for Standardization and Metrology dated on March 13, 2020.
With the standard, requirements for quality examination, confirmation, labeling, packaging, restoration and transportation of reusable cloth face mask have been set, which is used for preventing from air pollution and respiratory infectious diseases and reducing their spread.
The standard allows national producers
to domestically manufacture repeated use cloth face mask, which satisfies the
standard, in aims of protecting health of the people and preventing from the
spread of infections.
Representatives of government and non-governmental organizations such as the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, the Mongolian Agency for Standardization and Metrology, the National Center for Communicable Disease and the Mongolian University of Science and Technology were included in the working group in charge of development and adoption of the standard.
