Mongolian Archaeology conference taking place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On December 20-21, Mongolian Archaeology-2019 conference is being co-organized by the Institute of History and Archaeology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, National Museum of Mongolia, Department of Anthropology and Archaeology of the National University of Mongolia, and the Association of Mongolian Archaeologists

At the two day conference, 129 local and 90 foreign scholars from 10 organizations such as the International Institute for the Study of Nomadic Civilizations, Department of Archaeology of the Ulaanbaatar University, and the National Center for Cultural Heritage will deliver 72 presentations.


Some of the presentations will give new information and research results about rock paintings dating back to 3000 BC, one of the top discoveries of 2019 - the finds unearthed from Xiongu tombs in Gol mod 2 cemetery in Undur-Ulaan soum, Arkhangai aimag, vases containing frozen clotted cream and yellow butter found from glacial in Khuvsgul aimag and the research conducted on the palace of a Golden Horde noble from the 13th to 14th centuries.
