Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On April 29, Deputy Governor of the Capital City in charge of social development issues Sh.Ankhmaa received UN Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Mongolia Beate Trankmann to discuss the 2019 plan between the UNDP and the Governor’s Office of the Capital City in the frameworks of implementing sustainable development goals in Ulaanbaatar city.

Deputy Governor Sh.Ankhmaa said, “The most pressing issues exist in social sector. Alongside the issue of improving the quality and accessibility of schools, kindergartens and healthcare, there are many challenges encountered by women. As the gender equality is a core of development policy, we are currently developing a sub-programme based on intensive research. The UNDP implements many projects and programs towards the gender equality. Thus, I am confident that our partnership will further expand if we ensure coherence on the works.”
In response, UNDP Resident Representative Beate Trankmann said, “As a half of the Mongolia population lives in Ulaanbaatar, we are giving high significance on how to build sustainable development through ways of intensifying the implementation process of sustainable development goals." In partnership with the organizations of the capital city, the indications and the expected outcome for 2020 and 2025 have been defined based on the data for 2016. We focused on developing a plan that involves the challenges faced by children, women and families, added Ms. Trankmann.
