German-funded Kindergarten inaugurated in the Bayankhoshuu Ger Area
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONSTAME/ On January 30, German Ambassador Stefan Duppel officially inaugurated the new kindergarten of Caritas Mongolia in the center of Bayankhoshuu ger area, Ulaanbaatar, which was co-funded as a micro-project with a total funding of MNT 70 million by the German Embassy. Partner
of this project was also Caritas Japan which financed the construction and
renovation of the new kindergarten.
The previous kindergarten, opened in 2015, consisted of two gers, sheltering 25 children, but could neither protect them from the smog nor provide sufficient space or an environment for more than the most basic educational purposes. The new kindergarten allows 50 children to be cared for, is heated, fully furnished and equipped with modern air purifiers. In his opening address, Ambassador Duppel emphasized the importance of providing the healthiest possible environment to the young generation and stressed the German commitment to supporting Mongolia in this respect, as demonstrated in this project.
The German participation is part of a program to finance and support charitable micro-projects all over Mongolia with an available funding of about 25.000 euros per project.
