‘Peace Process on the Korean Peninsula’ forum takes place
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ State Secretary of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs D.Davaasuren took part and delivered remarks in the forum
themed ‘Peace Process on the Korean Peninsula’, co-organized by the Embassy of
the Republic of Korea in Mongolia and Mongolian research academies on November
30.
In his remarks, State Secretary D.Davaasuren mentioned direct
talks between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the Democratic People's Republic
of Korea (DPRK) on strengthening peace and security on Korean Peninsula retrieved
this year and that a historic US-DPRK high-level meeting successfully took
place. Mongolia highly values the noticeable progress made on ROK-DPRK
relations following the both sides’ efforts to comply with the joint declarations. This positive trend is resulted by the policy and unwavering
steps made by the leaders of the two sides, he noted and expressed hope that the next
meeting will be fruitful.
The State Secretary also asserted Mongolia has been holding a
position that the issue has to be solved peacefully and strives to contribute
towards solving regional pressing issues.
