Russian Hermitage Museum to exhibit Mongolian collection

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Displaying cultural heritages kept in the Russian State Hermitage Museum that are related to Mongolian history in Ulaanbaatar and furthermore some Russian and Eastern European cities is on agenda.
Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Ts.Munkh-Orgil Wednesday met M.G. Kramarovsky, scholar at the Oriental Department and curator of the Golden Horde Collection at the State Hermitage Museum and discussed the above matter.
The sides talked about organizing the exhibition in the second season of 2019, ensuring preparations and unveiling pieces from personal collections of Mongolians during the exhibition.
The State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg which keeps rare cultural heritages including the Chinggis Khaan Stone Inscription, one of the oldest monument written in traditional Mongolian script and golden and silver Geregs. Acting Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil noted the importance of the joint exhibition in bilateral cultural cooperation.
Moreover, sides exchanged views on duplicating archival records and pieces kept by the State Hermitage Museum that are linked to the history of Mongolia’s foreign affairs, and Mongolia’s participation in the exhibition themed Golden Horde and Crimea, to be held in November, 2018. The exhibition was initiated by Kazan Kremlin State Museum.
