All traffic outside city halted
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ National Emergency Management Agency has halted all vehicle movements to directions to cities and localities due to the heavy snow storms of the last two days, reported the head of National Emergency Commission and the Deputy Prime Minister Ts.Oyunbaatar and the secretary M.Enkh-Amar at a press briefing on March 4.
Arkhangai, Bayan-Olgii, Bayankhongor, Bulgan, Govi-Altai, Darkhan-Uul, Zavkhan and Uvs aimags were hit by snow storms with 30 m/sec of speed on March 3 and 4, causing emergency situations.
As of last night, 83 people were reported missing in the storms, of whom 81 were found by 4 pm this afternoon. Search operations are being conducted at the moment in Arkhangai and Bayan-Olgii for the two missing.
The snow storms are expected to continue on the next three days, warns the emergency commission.
