Cooperation projects discussed with WB Vice President

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Finance Ch.Khurelbaatar
on October 22 had a virtual meeting with World Bank’s Vice
President for East Asia and Pacific Victoria Kwakwa, Global Director for
Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Alfonso Garcia Mora, Country Director
for Mongolia Martin Raiser, and Country Manager for Mongolia Andrei
Mikhnev.
The Ministry reported on the economic challenges brought by COVID-19, government measures, and the budget assumption for 2021 at the meeting and the sides exchanged views on projects they can implement under the Bank’s Mongolia Country Program for the next five years, which is currently under development.
Ms. Victoria Kwakwa expressed pleasure with the continuity
of the Government’s policies and activities and said the Bank is ready to
cooperate in taking major steps within the new government policies and
strategies. She also congratulated the Government on preventing local
transmissions of COVID-19 to this day through timely and appropriate measures, underlining
that the country’s Human Capital Index Score (61%) is above both regional (58%) and global average (56%).
