Deputy Construction Minister attends Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Minister of Construction and Urban Development E.Zolboo had a government to government meeting with Yun Seong-won, Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport of the Republic of Korea during the 2020 Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference (GICC) virtually organized on December 7 by the ROK Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to discuss bilateral cooperation in construction and urban development.
Mr. Yun Seong-won thanked the Deputy Minister for participating in GICC and discussed the progress of Solongo 1 and 2 projects funded from ROK Economic Development Cooperation Fund, asking Mongolia to provide support in addressing challenges that may arise in the project implementation due to the pandemic. He also said a smart city development project is being implemented in Ulaanbaatar city as part of the ROK government’s KCT program and that ROK supports partnership between Korea Land and Housing Corporation and Mongolian State Housing Corporation and is interested in taking part in the Mongolian government’s satellite city development.
Deputy Minister E.Zolboo thanked ROK for providing assistance for the implementation of Yarmag water supply projects and programs and reported on the progress of three housing development projects and programs funded by soft loans from ROK. He emphasized that the projects and programs are of great significance in the implementation of the national program to build apartment buildings for 15 thousand households, the Government plans for the next four years.
