New wastewater treatment plant put into operation in Bulgan aimag

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The wastewater treatment plant newly built in Bulgan aimag has been put into operation. The plant, financed with MNT 8.6 billion from the Asian Development has a daily capacity of 3,000 cubic meters.


The plant is providing jobs for 28 engineering and technical workers and it is expected to improve wastewater management in the aimag by opening up an opportunity to use the treated wastewater for watering public green spaces and produce biofuel from the sewage sludge.


As part of the Southeast Gobi Urban and Border Town Development Project, wastewater treatment plants are currently being built in Khuvsgul. Khentii, Dundgobi, and Sukhbaatar aimags.
