Launching of GIZ EEP e-learning platform

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The Energy Efficiency Building Refurbishment in Mongolia
(EEP) Project from GIZ will launch their e-learning platform at the beginning
of September. The platform currently comprises one Module the ‘Basic Training
on Energy Efficiency in Buildings.’
This course aims to provide the basic knowledge on Energy Efficiency in
Buildings, indicate the retrofitting technology for Buildings in the Mongolian
setting, provide knowledge on feasible Renewable Energy sources for Ulaanbaatar
and introduce the principles of the ‘Excellence in Design for Greater
Efficiencies’ (EDGE) and International Green Building Standards software.
The 43 registered participants are employees from four
different Departments of the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar which are active in
the field of planning, implementation and monitoring of urban housing projects.
The e-learning platform is designed to support cross-sectoral communication in
the field of Energy Efficiency in Buildings as well as to convey diverse
Renewable Energy considerations for UB.
However, the main focus of the Module is the Energy Efficient Design of
Buildings with the use of the free available online EDGE software. The
self-paced but tutored online course will be on air for one month to allow the
participants sufficient time to absorb and reflect on the course content.
The GIZ project partner is the Capital City Housing Cooperation (NOSK) and this
cooperation is funded by the BMZ the German Federal Ministry for Economic
Cooperation and Development.
