Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On January 16, First Deputy Commissioner of the National Police Agency of Mongolia R.Otgonjargal held a meeting with United Nations Children's Fund representatives led by UNICEF Representative in Mongolia Alex Heikens. They discussed protection of children against crimes, and improving effectiveness of works on child protection.

Noting the good results of the works and measures on child protection being implemented by the National Police Agency in recent years, Mr. Alex Heikens expressed his support for the protection of children’s rights and safety, further developing partnership.

In 2019, the police agency organized various projects and campaigns on protecting children from domestic violence, traffic accidents, and cyber crime, such as the community-based projects, ‘Child Protector’, and ‘Unfriend’. As a result, the number of cases involving children has reduced by 2 percent in 2018, and 5.3 percent in 2019.
