National Team Athletes Win 135 Medals at International Competitions This Year

Ulaanbaatar, October 2, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Under the guidance of 60 coaches, 254 athletes of the National Team of Mongolia trained and competed in 27 sports disciplines, including winter, summer, and Paralympic sports.
As of September 2025, the athletes have won a total of 135 medals at international, continental, and world-class competitions, including 34 gold, 36 silver, and 65 bronze, the Committee of Mongolian National Sports reported. Among these, adult athletes secured four gold, five silver, and eight bronze medals at the World Championships, while youth athletes won one gold and two bronze, and junior athletes earned one bronze. Additionally, athletes claimed 15 medals at the Asian Championships for both youth and adults.
The first medal of 2025 was won by cross-country skier Achbadrakh Batmunkh, who claimed two gold medals in January at the 79th Korea National Championship for Cross-Country Skiing held in Gangwon, Republic of Korea. The most recent medal was brought home by judo international master Gonchigsuren Batkhuyag over the past weekend, who triumphed in the +100 kg category at the Qingdao Grand Prix.
