Mongolia to Host Asian Eastern Zonal Men's Volleyball Championship 2026

Ulaanbaatar, December 2, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Eastern Asian Volleyball Association has selected Ulaanbaatar to host the Asian Eastern Zonal Men's Volleyball Championship, scheduled for August 16-23, 2026.
The tournament is expected to elevate the development of volleyball in Mongolia. Following the hosting decision, the Mongolian Volleyball Association (MVA) established a working group at its Board meeting and has begun preparations. The MVA will also select and officially announce the men’s and women’s national teams for international competitions based on performance in the top league during 2026.
Mongolia previously hosted the Asian Eastern Zonal Men's Volleyball Championship in 2000, 2008, 2015, and 2017. The women’s team won silver in 2000 and bronze in 2008, while the men’s team finished fourth in both the 2015 and 2017 tournaments.
Notably, Mongolia will open its first dedicated national team training
facility in 2026, providing a permanent base for preparing elite volleyball
athletes.
