State Secretary of Foreign Affairs Ministry meets UNFPA Country Director for Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Secretary of State of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia D.Davaasuren received United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Representative in China and Country Director for Mongolia Dr. Babatunde Ahonsi and exchanged views on partnership. 

Noting that as a responsible member of international community, Mongolia always strives to give support and contribution to the activities of the United Nations and for active cooperation with the UN, State Secretary D.Davaasuren expressed gratitude for the UNFPA for its remarkable commitment to population development, including reproductive health and rights of girls and women, youth capacity building and gender equality. 

In turn, Dr. Babatunde Ahonsi thanked for the Government of Mongolia for its consistent support to Mongolia and pledged to continue its cooperation towards reducing maternal and infant mortality and eradicating gender inequality. 

Dr. Babatunde Ahonsi was appointed as UNFPA Representative in China in November 2017 and has been working as a Country Director for Mongolia since September 1 of this year.
