By changing the status of the Music and Dance College to a conservatory, it created the opportunity for students to major in classical music, wind and brass, percussion instruments, music theory, composing, conducting, and classical dance at home country.

In his speech, the Prime Minister noted that the Government of Mongolia has come to the decision to build theatres, museums and tourism complexes in order to develop culture and arts as well as improving the citizen’s arts education, and called upon the teachers and students at the State Conservatory to lead in the matter.

Director of the State Conservatory, State Honored Cultural Figure, Professor Ts.Purevkhuu in his speech at the opening ceremony highlighted that even the conservatory’s young students that are barely able to carry their own bags are putting the name of Mongolia on the international stage. Over 500 students of the conservatory have competed in over 40 international competitions, winning grand prix trophies, medals and awards.

Consisting of over 20 departments, the State Conservatory is launching a master’s programme this academic year for the first time and it is also preparing for doctoral programmes in the future.
