JICA grants earthquake simulator

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Today, March 20, at 3pm, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) handed over equipment of earthquake simulation experience to National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the framework of technical cooperation project for Strengthening the National Capacity Earthquake Disaster Protection and Prevention in Mongolia.


The equipment will be operated as a disaster protection training and awareness building material for citizens and students. For the continuous utilization, proper training and practice with the technical experts are expected. U. Enkhtuvshin, Deputy Prime Minister, Masato Takaoka, Ambassador of Japan, T.Badral, Chief of NEMA, Eriko Tamura, Chief Representative of JICA Mongolia Office, and related officials from both side were present at the ceremony.


With overall aim of reducing seismic risks in Mongolia, the project has developed and implemented educational and training program for implementing disaster prevention and simulation program in Training centers.
