Mongolian delegates present voluntary national report

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On March 17, representatives of the Government of Mongolia, who are attending the 61st session of the Commission on the Status of Women taking place in New York, on March 13-24, presented  voluntary national report themed “Challenges and achievements in the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals for women and girls”.

The voluntary national report says Mongolia has achieved  successes in ensuring gender equality and human rights towards women and girls and enhancing their participation at the decision-making level in the scope of the Millennium Development Goals. Also, Mongolian delegates introduced that in the scope of the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, Mongolia is aiming to implement women-targeted goals of women's economic empowerment, consolidating the gender-sensitive budget system, increasing share of women at the decision-making level, promoting women’s employment and eliminating the gender wage gap in the private sector.

Following the presentation of the Mongolian voluntary report, representatives of Switzerland and Japan delivered their reports, where they highly appraised Mongolia’s accomplishments within MDG and confirmed their commitment to combine efforts for delivering sustainable development goals in the future.
