A charter flight, bringing 266 Mongolian nationals from the Republic of Korea, has landed today, June 18, at 17:40 at Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar.

According to the population and housing census 2020 conducted earlier this year, the total number of households has increased by 25.7 percent since 2010, of which urban households increased by 26.4 percent and rural households by 24.3 percent.

COVID-19 cases detected in four Belarusian transport drivers
At today’s daily press briefing on the situation around COVID-19 in the country, D.Nyamkhuu, director of the National Center for Communicable Diseases, reported that out of 363 people, who were tested yesterday at three laboratories, four Belarusian transport drivers, who entered the country through Altanbulag border checkpoint, have been diagnosed with novel coronavirus infection.

“Clean Air City” virtual scientific conference takes place
“Ulaanbaatar will become a zero-waste city in 2050. To accomplish this goal, it is necessary  to create a multi-centered city system and to produce energy from waste,” emphasized Deputy Governor of the Capital City in charge of air and environmental pollution issues D.Munkhjargal in her remarks addressed at the opening of an international virtual scientific conference entitled “Clean Air City” being held today, June 17.

New sports field opens in Bayanzurkh district
A 4.4-meter-wide, four-lane 450-meter jogging track, a 5,500-square-meter football field, an 880-square-meter basketball and volleyball court, an 84-meter-long 1.2-meter-wide walkway, and 1,155 square meters of sidewalks have been built. In addition, the sports field was built with spectator seats, shade, children's playgrounds, parking lots and restrooms, adding one more place for children and youth to visit.

State Emergency Commission: Over 10K Mongolians repatriated since coronavirus
Due to ongoing ban on all international travel of passengers to and out of Mongolia, including Mongolian passengers, to prevent from spread of COVID-19 pandemic, there are estimated 11,000 Mongolian travelers stranded abroad and wanting to return home immediately, reported last week the State Emergency Commission (SEC).
