Ambassador to Canada participates in Canada-Mongolia parliamentary group’s meeting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Canada Ya.Ariunbold took part in a telemeeting of the Canada-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Parliament of Canada held on June 16. Chaired by Canadian MP Yasmin Ratansi, the meeting involved former Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada Geoff Regan and other officials.


Ambassador Ya.Ariunbold gave detailed information on the current state of bilateral relations and cooperation, noting that the Mongolian delegation is working to deepen the cooperation between the legislatures of the two countries and boost trade and investment.


Informing the meeting participants of the actions the Government of Mongolia is taking to grow and diversify the economy, bring domestic products into international markets, and nurture long-term, win-win partnerships with investors, the Ambassador sought the Canadian legislature’s support in implementing new projects and programs in Mongolia with development assistance from Canada and merchandising products made in Mongolia on the Canadian market.


The Canadian side underlined that there are possibilities to expand bilateral humanitarian cooperation and cooperate in protecting the rights of women and girls, promoting accountable mining, and increasing investment, and undertook to support bilateral cooperation between the two parliaments and in other fields.
