Mongolia marking Buddha Day as public holiday
On June 5, today, Mongolia is celebrating the Buddha Day as an official public holiday for the first time. This day, which falls on the 15th day of the first month of summer every year, according to the Buddhist calendar, is dedicated to mark three momentous events in Buddha's life – his birth, enlightenment, and his departure from the human world.

Light industry training centers established with EU funding
With financing of the European Union, “Industry of the Future” blended training center and “Textile - Knitwear Finishing Incubator Center” opened yesterday, on June 3. The centers are established within “Support to Employment Creation in Mongolia (SECiM 2) Project” jointly running by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia.

In May 2020, the precious metal purchase of the Bank of Mongolia (BoM) was 1.7 tons, increasing the BoM’s total precious metal purchase of 2020 to 8.5 tons, of which 6.8 tons were gold and 1.7 tons were silver.

The ancient historical and cultural site of Sum Khukh Burd is said to be the only oasis of the Gobi desert. The site is located 70 km to the northwest of the Dundgobi aimag center, and 18 km from the astonishing rock formations of Baga Gazriin Chuluu.
