According to a report provided by the General Election Commission at 12 am, Mongolians are actively participating in the election with 25.13 percent voter turnout.

The General Election Commission has reported that 507 thousand and 510 citizens out of 2 million and 624 eligible registered voters in total cast their ballots, which means and 25.13 percent voter turnout at the national level as of 12 am.

A working team founded with the aims of domestically producing coronavirus test and introducing it into use, has presented outcome of their research.

Spring sowing increased by 15-20 percent
This year, spring sowing has started on May 9 and has been made to 490.2 thousand hectares of areas, including 375.1 thousand hectares for grains of which 358.3 thousand hectares for wheat, 17.4 thousand hectares for potatoes, 8.5 thousand hectares for vegetables, 56.1 thousand hectares for oil plants, 28.8 thousand hectares for fodder plants and 3.5 thousand hectares for fruits and berries.

Damaged Duut Rock Inscription restored
Recently, the Duut Rock Inscription or known as Tsogtiin Khadnii Bichig (Rock Inscription of Tsogt Prince) located near the Mountain Tuvkhun in Delgerkhaan soum of Tuv aimag was found to be damaged from splashes of milk and oil, and more than 70 percent of the inscriptions had been darkened as a result. The inscriptions on the rock, which has been under state protection since 1971, dates back to time of 380 years ago and has been preserved until today.

Groundbreaking ceremony takes place for memorial on remembrance day
A groundbreaking ceremony, ‘Always In Our Hearts’, was held for a memorial to the Mongolians and Russians, who went off to the Great Patriotic War from Mongolia, outside the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Ulaanbaatar on June 22.

Mongolia confirms another two coronavirus cases, total at 215
Today’s COVID-19 press briefing by the Ministry of Health updated the latest coronavirus situation in Mongolia. In the past 24 hours, a total of 426 test have been carried out at three laboratories nationwide.  Among them, two people repatriated from Kazakhstan were tested positive for the virus, taking the total number of people who ever had the disease in Mongolia at 215.

Mongolia’s first direct flight to U.S. departs, carrying PPE assistance worth USD 1 million
Mongolia has been continuously repatriating its citizens stranded abroad due to border closure imposed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. A total of nine charter flights are have been on the plan to bring back 2,300 citizens from overseas this month alone.

Three more transport drivers tested positive for COVID-19
“A total of 339 people were tested yesterday at three laboratories, of whom three transport drivers  tested positive for the novel coronavirus, reported D.Nyamkhuu, director of the National Center for Communicable Diseases. These Russian, Belarusian and Mongolian drivers have started receiving treatment from today.

Five charter flights scheduled in July
According to the decision of the State Emergency Commission on June 18, five charter flights will be organized in the first half of July to repatriate citizens from abroad.
