Australian Ambassador praises first direct flight to Sydney as historic event
MIAT Mongolia Airlines flight departed to Australia on Saturday evening, June 6, to bring more than 260 Mongolian nationals home. The charter flight is the first ever direct passenger flight from Mongolia to Australia.

First charter flight to Australia to bring 270 Mongolians home
The State Emergency Commission (SEC) last week reported that eight more charter flights will be operated to several countries, including Kazakhstan, Japan, India, South Korea, and Germany to bring some 2000 Mongolians stranded abroad in June. Destinations of two of them are not finalized.

Confirmed coronavirus cases in Mongolia reach 191
At June 5 press briefing of the Ministry of Health on the COVID-19 situation, D.Nyamkhuu, Director of National Center for Communicable Diseases announced that five new coronavirus cases have been confirmed after a total of 715 people were tested for the virus at four laboratories in Ulaanbaatar and Darkhan-Uul aimag on June 4.
