Ulaanbaatar, July 1, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Within the framework of the "Kharkhorum International Film Festival 2025", selected Mongolian film projects were presented at the "Chinggis Khaan" National Museum.
In commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the establishment and development of Mongolian cinematography, the Festival aims to support collaborative productions with potential for international distribution and has shortlisted 15 projects. The creators delivered five-minute presentations in English about their respective projects, including “Aaru” by L. Tavanbayar, “Ohin Tenger” by B. Anar, “The Boy Shaman” documentary project by K. Dulguunzul, and “Murch-2” television series by P. Delgerbayar. The jury panel for this event comprised the Artistic Director of the Festival, Tsogtbayar Namsrai; Programmer of the Kharkhorum International Film Festival, Maria Razakamboly; author and director Cristiano Bortone; film producer Michaelangelo Masangkay; and producer and agent Tien A Pham. The judges offered advice to the filmmakers on future project development, aspects to note, visual presentation, opportunities for international exposure, and participation in film festivals.
Artistic Director of the Festival, Tsogtbayar Namsrai, emphasized, “International festivals customarily announce project selection competitions. While the selection process in Mongolia had previously been conducted under closed conditions, it has become open this year for the first time. I am confident this will be advantageous for creators. Presenting before a larger audience instead of 2-3 people will improve their communication skills and allow them to compare their work with other projects. Most importantly, filmmakers are taking their first steps toward presenting their film projects to international producers and accessing the global market.”
Notably, the selected best and outstanding projects will receive support to participate in the “Asian Contents & Film Market” event to be held at the Busan International Film Festival.
