"Go Mongolia" Event Organized at Hikarigaoka Park in Japan

Ulaanbaatar, May 6, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The “Go Mongolia” Event was organized at the Hikarigaoka Park in Nerima, Japan, in collaboration with the Embassy of Mongolia in Tokyo.


At the event, there was a performance by the famous Japanese singer Akira Kobayashi. Also, B. Barslkhagva, who played the role of Chinggis in VIVANT, a Japanese series co-produced by Mongolian and Japanese creators, served as a special ambassador for "Go Mongolia". Additionally, Minister of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia B. Bat-Erdene appointed Akira Kobayashi as the Tourism Ambassador for Mongolia.



Five travel programs were introduced at the event, including the “One Sheep - One Tourist” program showcasing nomadic culture and heritage, "Historical Tour and Chinggis Khaan," “Adventure Travel” for those interested in excitement and adventure, “Gobi and Star”, and “Winter Travel and Taiga.” The “Go Mongolia” event in Japan attracted approximately 15,000 people.


The Government of Mongolia has declared 2023-2025 as the “Years to Visit Mongolia” and is organizing the “Go Mongolia” campaign under the slogan “MonGOlia, Always Moving” in China, Russia, South Korea, and Japan to promote Mongolia.


In 2023, Mongolia welcomed 651,061 tourists and earned an income of USD 1.3 billion. Of the total number of tourists visited Mongolia, 20,390, or 3.2%, were Japanese. The Government is focusing on increasing this number, receiving targeted groups of tourists, and developing new programs specifically for Japanese tourists.
