Ulaanbaatar, April 22, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The "Asia, Nomadic Cultures, Mobility, and Environment Study Center - Mongolian Culture Center (naMec)" opened at the University of Florence and the University of Parma in Italy on April 19, 2024.

This Center was established in line with the Mongolian Government's 2020-2024 action plan, which aims at creating a Mongolian cultural center to promote the Mongolian language and culture globally, with the support of universities and research institutions.

The Opening Ceremony of the Mongolian Culture Center featured speeches by Alessandra Petrucci, Rector of the University of Florence, and Maria Cecilia Mancini, Vice-Rector of the University of Parma. Bum-Ochir Dulam, the Culture and Religious Policy Advisor to the President of Mongolia, delivered a lecture with a diverse audience, including scholars, educators, and students from Mongolia and Italy.

The Mongolian Culture Centers will play a crucial role in promoting the Mongolian language, culture, and heritage globally. The Centers will facilitate the development of Mongol studies, foster cultural exchange between Mongolia and Italy, and elevate the quality of research and professional training in this field.

Moreover, the "Mongolian Culture Center" holds significant importance in effectively implementing the Cooperation Agreement on Culture signed between the Governments of Mongolia and Italy. The Center will be a crucial impetus to further strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries in culture and education.
