Meeting held with UN Special Rapporteur
Society
Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Mongolia’s Ambassador and Permanent
Representative to international organizations in Geneva L. Purevsuren held a
meeting with the United Nations Special Rapporteur on violence against women
Ms. Reem Alsalem on November 22.
During the meeting, the sides discussed preparations for
Special Rapporteur’s visit to Mongolia to be made from November 29 to December
8, and exchanged views on other issues of interest.
As part of Mongolia’s policy of open cooperation with the
United Nations and its specialized agencies in the field of human rights, the
country sent a standing invitation to the UN Special Rapporteurs in 2004. Reem
Alsalem is the 10th Special Rapporteur to visit Mongolia.
