Mongolia-Russia cooperation plan in emergency field approved

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Mongolia’s delegation led by the Chief
of the National Emergency Management Agency Major General G.Ariunbuyan took
part in the 18th meeting of Mongolian-Russian Joint Commission on Cooperation
in the Prevention of Industrial Accidents, Natural Disasters and Elimination of
Their Consequences held on October 27-28 in Elista, Kalmykia.
The Russian side was led by Deputy Minister for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters of the Russian Federation (EMERCOM) I.P. Denisov, and the Head of Kalmykia Batu Khasikov took part in the meeting.
During the meeting of the commission, the parties discussed the interaction of emergency services and agreed to involve Mongolian specialists in short-term advanced training at educational institutes of EMERCOM and co-organize deepwater exercise every year.
The parties also approved a plan of cooperation for 2022-2023 between the National Emergency Management Agency of Mongolia and the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of the Consequences of Natural Disasters and made a decision to hold the 19th meeting of the joint commission in 2023 in Mongolia.
In addition, the Mongolian delegation held a meeting with the Head of Kalmykia Batu Khasikov and exchanged views on Mongolia-Russia cooperation and relations in disaster protection.
