Progress of moving operations to the new airport at 60 percent

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On July 2, State Secretary of the Ministry of Road and Transport Development S.Batbold became acquainted with the preparations to launch operations at the Chinggis Khaan International Airport as well as the progress of moving the operations of Buyant-Ukhaa International Airport to the new airport. A plan to ensure the preparations for opening the Chinggis Khaan International Airport was approved by the Minister of Road and Transport Development in April.



The progress of the actions and measures planned to be taken by the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia (MCAA) and ‘New Ulaanbaatar International Airport’ LLC is currently at 93 percent, reported MCAA First Deputy-Director B.Altantsom. 



“So far, there have been no issues with carrying out works in the framework of moving the operations to the new airport. As of July 1, it is currently at over 60 percent complete,” said MCAA Deputy Director N.Myagmarsuren. During his visit, State Secretary S.Batbold also checked the progress of the repairs being done for the highway linking the capital to the new international airport, which will be completed tomorrow. 

 

The new Chinggis Khaan International Airport located in Khushig Valley will be put into operation this Sunday on July 4.
