"Mongolia 24th largest contributor of personnel to UN Peacekeeping"

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Every year, May 29 is marked as the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers.
As of 2019, more than 100 thousand peacekeepers from 125 countries have served in 14 peacekeeping operations of the United Nations. Mongolia is ranked at 24th by the number of its peacekeepers contributed to the United Nations operations, says Minister of Defense N.Enkhbold in his greetings on the occasion of this day.
"In 2002, Mongolia started taking an active part in the peacekeeping missions to maintain peace and security. Since then, Mongolia have contributed a total of 18 thousand blue helmets in peacekeeping operations."
The International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers aims to honor professional skills and efforts of peacekeepers and commemorate fallen uniformed and civilian personnel.
