122 hectares of public gardens to be set up in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ 2016-2020 action plan of the Governor of the capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar includes establishing more green spaces in Ulaanbaatar to have more urban gardens per capita and reduce dust particles in the air. Capital city governor S.Amarsaikhan ordered his staff to build gardens, plant grass in areas with bare soil, and improve the maintenance of green space areas.


Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office is currently planting grass in areas with bare soil, growing trees and building gardens in 157 locations. According to public space specialist of the Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office D.Sukhbat, new public gardens will be built on land area of 122 hectares in the capital city and trees will be planted in 13 locations. 


“We are working to increase the number of green spaces in Ulaanbaatar upon the Governor’s orders. Trees will be mostly planted along pedestrian paths and in the middle of residential areas”.
