Local council elections scheduled for October 15

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At its plenary session, the State
Great Khural (Parliament) discussed a draft resolution on the polling day for the 2020 elections of Representatives’ khurals (council) of aimags, capital city, soums and
districts.
With no inquiries regarding the approval of the document by
the Parliamentary Standing Committee on State Structure, the draft resolution
that schedules the polling day for local council elections for October 15, 2020, was passed with
64.2 percent votes in favor.
The Parliament also approved a resolution on the use of voting equipment in local council elections with 78.3 percent votes in favor. Pursuant to the resolution, the new ImageCast voting machine will be utilized for the local elections.
