Parliament approves MP B.Batzorig’s resignation

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Today’s plenary meeting of the
parliament approved a resignation of MP B.Batzorig.
Information about the huge amount of loans allegedly taken
by companies affiliated with high-level state officials from the Small and
Medium Enterprises Fund was exposed publicly. Therefore, MP B.Batzorig
submitted his resignation letter on March 30, 2020, taking an ethical responsibility
on this matter as for a former Minister
of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry.
Under the relevant rules, a dismissal of a Member of Parliament shall be resolved by a secret ballot. Accordingly, MP B.Bat-Erdene worked as a head of a counting commission of the secret ballot. In the secret ballot, 47 MPs were present, of whom 57.4 percent voted to support MP B.Batzorig’s request of resignation.
Moreover, a resolution on dismissing full rights
of the Member of Parliament of B.Batzorig was approved with 51.9 percent vote.
