ICCR announces Essay Competition

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On the occasion of the 70th
Foundation Day of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), the Embassy of
India in Mongolia announced an English Essay Competition on the theme of facing
the challenge of Covid-19 unitedly for international students and Indian
diaspora.
It is available to submit essays to cssection.iccr@nic.in before April
30, 2020.
ICCR, founded in 1950, is a leading institution to promote
India’s cultural heritage abroad and improve mutual understanding of India and
the world through its human-centered relations. Through a mutual enrichment of ideas,
Indian philosophy ‘the world is one family’ was strengthened, bringing Indian
cultural values to the world arena.
A wide-range of ICCR’s cultural, academic and intellectual
exchanges and promotion of India’s culture abroad encompasses various outreach
activities through its 38 cultural centers abroad and 19 regional offices
within India, including Indian art, history, oral traditions, dance, music,
yoga, languages, food, festivals and contemporary issues.
The quest for knowledge has always been fundamental to Indian culture and civilization. Since them immemorial, India has attracted knowledge-seekers and inquisitive minds from all over the world. India continues to be a center for learning and promotes academic exchanges through conferences, seminars, chairs of Indian studies and the activities of alumni of Indian institutions.
Mongolia is one of the biggest participants of ICCR’s
scholarship programmes and most Mongolian graduates are working as high public
officials, reported the Embassy of India in Mongolia.
