Partnership agreement for Kharkhorin expedition extended

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Director of the Institute of Pre- and Early Historical Archeology at the University of Bonn, Prof. Dr. Jan Bemmann and President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences D.Regdel signed a memorandum to extend the duration of the partnership agreement for the Mongolian-German Kharkhorin Expedition last week. With the memorandum, the agreement has been extended by 5 years until 2024.
Having conducted
successful joint excavations and research in the ancient capital city of
Kharkhorin for the past 15 years, the result of the research work done by the
Institute of History and Archaeology at MAS and the Institute of Pre- and Early
Historical Archaeology at the University of Bonn received high appraisal during
the ‘Genghis Khan and His Heirs, The Great Mongol Empire’ exhibition that took
place in several European countries on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of
the establishment of the Great Mongol Empire in 2006.
