Seven countries to participate in Khaan Quest 2019 for the first time

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The multinational peace support operations exercise ‘Khaan Quest-2019’ is to start tomorrow at Five Hills Training Area. In this regard, General Staff of the Armed Forces held a press conference today.
“In partnership with U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and Global Peace Operations Initiative, Khaan Quest exercise is being organized for the 17th
year. A total of 1400 troops including around 500 troops from 37 nations and personnel from the Mongolian Armed Forces will take part in this year's exercise. The number of
participant countries has been increasing year to year and different
continental countries such as Moldavia, Benin, Zambia, Rwanda, Togo as well as Israel
and Jordan are partaking for the first time,” Head of Operation Management Department
of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Colonel Ch.Tsogtjargal said.
Khaan Quest 2019 consists of a UN peacekeeping operations command post exercise, a company training event, a staff training event, a field training event, and a critical enabler capability enhancement event at the Five Hills Training Area, all of which will focus on UN and international peacekeeping and stability operations.
The purpose of Khaan Quest is to gain UN training and
certification for the participants through the conduct of realistic peace
support operations, to include increasing and improving UN peacekeeping
operations interoperability and military relationships among the participating
nations.
