President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga: Today is a day to contemplate and love

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Under the auspices of the President of Mongolia, the annual forum of Glorious Mothers took place at the State House on the occasion of International Women’s Day today on March 8.
At the start of his speech, President Kh.Battulga greeting the mothers with the Order of Glorious Motherhood that have gathered and congratulating the thousands of great mothers in Mongolia.
He then continued on by saying, “I personally think of this day as a day to contemplate and love rather than a day to celebrate, which is indeed the core reason for being marked each year.” Mentioning that a national forum took place with the theme, ‘Each person’s involvement against violence’, under the auspices of the Prime Minister yesterday, he highlighted that today is an important day to discuss the current social status and involvement of women as well as to define the implementation of women’s rights, putting forward suggestions to enhance not only the role and contribution, but also policy and opportunities for women.
“Participation in political decision making, employment, family violence, human trafficking and women’s right to education are the major issues when we define the issues in women’s rights. Of these pressing issues, the one that can receive a positive evaluation is the right to education as a large percentage of the highly educated citizens are women. As for the other issues, we are currently living in a condition, where they are evaluated as average and below average.”
