Facebook to help improve Mongolia’s digital literacy
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Head of the department at the Communications and Information Technology Authority (CITA) A.Zolzaya attended the APAC Safety Summit 2018, annual event organized by the Facebook, Inc., held on October 24-26 in Singapore.
Mr. A.Zolzaya met with Facebook authorities including Antigone Davis, Global Head of Safety, Simon Milner, Vice President, and George Chen, Head of Public Policy, and shared views on current state of social network use in Mongolia and further cooperation possibilities.
During the meeting, the Facebook pledged to provide step by step digital education in Mongolia and agreed to introduce the best international education models in collaboration with the CITA.
Presentations and panel discussions on Facebook’s digital safety, next generation technology and effective solutions on digital safety were held during the summit and representatives of 16 countries including Korea, Australia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Vietnam shared their optimal solutions and management experiences.
The participants agreed that the most effective solution for ensuring digital safety is to improve digital literacy of the people.
