Mongolia-Cuba cooperation in field of archaeology established

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Head of History and Archaeological Institute (HAI) of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences S.Chuluun visited the University of Havana at its invitation and delivered a lecture about achievements in the field of archaeology of Mongolia under the theme ‘Archaeology in Mongolia - Present and Future’.
Furthermore, Mr. S.Chuluun met with authorities and leading scholars of the country’s anthropology institute. The sides agreed to establish a Memorandum of Cooperation between the History and Archaeological Institute of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and the Anthropology Institute at the Social Science Council, under the HAI and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba. A draft document of the memorandum was also exchanged at the meeting.

Mr. Chuluun on how the Old Havana, that has buildings of 17th-18th century, was inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage Site and informed that the old area of Havana
city is being renovated.
