Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On March 15, Deputy Governor of the Capital City in charge of matters involving green development and environmental pollution P.Battur held a meeting with citizens to hear about their pressing issues and suggestions.

A citizen of the capital city’s Bayanzurkh district put forth a suggestion for effectively organizing the ‘One Billion Trees’ national campaign, expressing his interest in obtaining land under his own name as well as his family members to afforest the area. As the green spaces near the capital city are being sold for high prices, he also suggested utilizing the funds in fighting against desertification.

Deputy Governor P.Battur said, “In the framework of the One Billion Trees campaign, a responsibility agreement has been established with the Ministry of Environment and Tourism to plant 120 million trees in the capital city. Aside from the types of trees and shrubs that are commonly planted, fruit, berries, and ornamental trees can also be planted.”
